Nāranga, 2021
Nāranga is a multi-sensory dining experience that explores the collective memory of the Yaffa orange through the conducts of land ownership, labour tropes and western phantasms in the Palestinian narrative, questioning the fruits legality. With the intention of defamiliarising the fruit, Nāranga recontextualises the narrative of the Jaffa orange through the lens of memory and nostalgia. Using the senses guides the audiences gaze through the space, with each meal consumed they are introduced to a different layer of the orange. From the smell that ribbons through the space down to the weight of the cutlery, This intimate dining experience is designed to enrich knowledge and initiate conversation.
This is a conceptual dining experience that is curently being developed into a supper club to take place in the UAE.
